Suck It!
Suck It! was an official University of Leicester Students’ night held at and in conjunction with the local Zanzibar nightclub which proved to be a very successful relationship. The artwork was used for 10,000 DL flyers as well as posters and advertisements in Autumn 2002.
The original photographs used to make the flyer were ones which I took at one of the events. These pictures were run straight though Streamline or I adjusted their curves and contrast levels first to eliminate mid tones and create the cartoon-like heavy outlines. Sampled textures were also overlaid to add texture and distress the images. The retro circular patterns used for the backgrounds were created entirely in Illustrator.
